Lillian Borelli
Program Specialist
My name is Lillian, and I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such an amazing and inspiring community—a place I’ve proudly called home since 2018! My passion for working with children with special needs began in 2007 when my brother, Arthur, was born with Down syndrome. Arthur is not only my best friend but also a huge blessing to our family, and he’s been the driving force behind my dedication to this field and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
In 2016, I had the opportunity to volunteer for a summer school program supporting kids with special needs. That experience was unforgettable—I made wonderful memories and discovered just how much joy this work brings me. During high school, I further nurtured this passion by becoming a peer mentor for two years, forming deep connections and friendships that I still cherish today.
It all came full circle in 2018 when I attended my brother’s first flag football game. Watching from the sidelines with my family, I felt inspired to do more. After a game, my sister and I spoke with Gabe about joining this incredible community—and I haven’t looked back since.
I started as a peer mentor and gradually took on more roles, including 1:1 volunteer, team lead, coach, and now, seasonal employee. Every step of this journey has been a blessing, and I’m so honored to be one of Gabe’s many “minions”!
