About First Tee – Idaho

First Tee – Idaho is a non-profit that is quickly growing all over the world! Our local chapter is one of 150 chapters that focuses on introducing young people to the game of golf and teaching life skills along the way. Our program is built around the nine core values (respect, honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, perseverance, courtesy, responsibility, confidence, and judgement) and every lesson focuses on incorporating a core value into the golf activities for that day. Our mission is to keep golf affordable and to teach young people the values that are deeply embedded in the game that will also help them in life.

Purpose

Each class will start with a warm-up activity that will introduce the kids to the core value for the day. After that we will split the kids into two to three groups and we will have stations setup that will focus on putting, chipping, and full swing. The intent at each station is to introduce the kids to a new FUN golf activity that will bridge to the core value for the day. After time is up at each station and each group has an opportunity to participate in every activity, we will do a wrap-up and bridge to life. This is a brief open discussion with the group about the activities for the day and how the core value can benefit them at home and in school.
